At its core, the portal was grappling with years of ad‑hoc patches and feature add‑ons that piled up technical debt and slowed every release, while users felt overwhelmed by content overload and buried under a maze of fragmented navigation. On top of that, a one‑size‑fits‑all UX left policyholders, brokers, underwriters and admins each hunting for their own vital tools, and every little dashboard tweak still meant waiting on developers. Mobile support barely made the cut, personalization was all but non‑existent, and even basic login and access controls had gaps that kept compliance teams up at night. All of these challenges pointed to one guiding truth: without a clear, flexible foundation, neither efficiency nor user delight could ever truly take center stage.

We set out to turn a sprawling, one‑size‑fits‑all portal into a fast, clear and secure hub where every user—whether a policyholder, broker, underwriter or admin—could land exactly where they need to be in seconds (on desktop or mobile), and where admins could spin up or tweak dashboards themselves, without waiting on developer hand‑offs.

We rebuilt the portal on a lean foundation: first, we distilled years of content into a simple tagging and filtering system, so users cut straight through the noise; next, we introduced an intuitive drag‑and‑drop page builder that hands admins full control of their dashboards; and all of it sits on a fresh, responsive UI backed by tightened access controls. The result is a portal that feels tailored to each role, adapts to any device and frees eRisk to deliver new value at speed.
